Customer Review: A vanilla Vacu Vin would suffice

Even as a hardcore WMF fan, it was hard to decide between getting a well-reviewed, Vacu Vin Stainless Steel Wine Saver Gift Set at $22 or this WMF Vino Wine Pump with no reviews at $35. I wasn't sure if the WMF would function as well as the tried-and-true Vacu Vin.
Fortunately, it turns out that this product is actually developed by Vacu Vin, just branded and designed by WMF. (This was written on the box.) Also, the rubber stoppers seem to be normal Vacu Vin stoppers, so I believe you would have no trouble getting replacement stoppers.
However, I do not recommend this product. I own a ton of WMF products, but this one doesn't live up to the name. Not even close. First, the handle is made of a low-quality metal that looks pretty cheap and is prone to dings. The body is wrapped in a different kind of metal, not bad but definitely not the super glossy stainless steel you get on other WMF products. I'm guessing this is the same material used on the stainless Vacu Vin (which I have never seen in person).
So what you get is a stainless Vacu Vin with a slightly more sophisticated form and a WMF logo, built with less than stunning materials. Is it worth the price difference? I say no.
