Customer Review: Dangerous corkscrew

I hate this corkscrew. It looked beautiful in the picture and at home. But when I used it to open wine, the corkscrew broke the tops off several bottles. Glass flew off in different directions and I think it is a dangerous product. My wife wanted me to return it but I was so mad at the way it worked, I threw it away. It's too much money for nothing.
Description of WMF Tapa Stainless Steel Corkscrew
One of WMF's high-quality wine tools, this corkscrew removes a wine bottle's cork without pulling. It simply sits on a bottle's neck while the spiral is turned into the screw continuously in one direction. The cork, guided by a tough plastic tube inside the stainless-steel casing, comes out in a straight line. Turning the handle in the opposite direction releases the cork. The spiral is silicone-coated so it smoothly enters a cork without crumbling it. Contemporary European in style, the corkscrew is heavy and handsome, and the stainless steel is high-grade 18/10 with a satin finish. Above the handle, the top of the implement is highly polished, providing a brilliant accent. The corkscrew stands 7 inches high and can be cleaned in soapy water. --Fred BrackCorkscrews & Openers
