I grew up using a whisk like this in my mom's kitchen - and never really used the other kind. They have become hard to find. This one is great because the handle is long -- so your hand doesn't get so hot while stirring gravy and other sauces. It stirs flat on the bottom so you don't burn anything. I buy them frequently for gifts for women that love to cook.
